I just thought that I would tell you about my last trip back from South Africa.

I had purchased a couple a great wines from that great wine country and while reading through the duty free catalogue on the flight I realised that I was allowed one more bottle of wine. Australian Customs only allows you 2.25 litres of alcohol into Australia. So I caught the attention of the lady bringing the duty free trolley down the isle and asked her for a merlot that sounded great. The airhostess said that she would look in the store room and bring it to me later.

Close to the end of the flight, that same airhostess came and stood next to me with a disappointed look on her face and said that they had none of the requested wine onboard. I felt terrible that I couldn’t bring my full quota of wine into the country!  sad  So I replied and said that it was fine (with a huge frown on my face of course). Not long after my reply, she revealed a duty free bag from behind her back and presented it to me. Her exact words at that moment were, “BUT... I have a bottle from first class for you instead!” and handed it to me. I didn’t have to pay a cent!

How sweet was that!?  cool
