Hi all at Wineography

I have a 750 ml bottle of afore mentioned Wine, Chateau De L'Hospital Graves Rouges 1992
Please can any of you learned people tell me that my good friend was not (or was) pulling my leg, when he nearly opened it?

About 10 years ago, at a party at my House, it was getting late, & all the token red wine had dried up as per usual, & I had a sectret stash.
A very good Friend & a "so called" Wine expert, well he thinks he is, but again, He knows way more than me about Wine.

I pointed him to the direction of my Red Wine rack & said Mark please help yourself.
He came out with 2 bottles of red & was studying the label on one of the bottles & said "I was tempted to open this one, but I can't!
"Why I asked? "Have you got any idea what this is worth? he said, 10 quid or 20 max i replied?
"This bottle is worth £150 on ebay alone! & if you asked for this in a restaurant or Hotel in London it would be £350 minimum!

I was gobsmacked, & snatched the bottle from him of course. But thanked the ole pi@@head for being so honest & not opening it,
As I was given this bottle from a very good Dutch friend in Holland awine expert, And exporter/ importer of Fine Wines IN 1996, I thought I would keep it & not Drink it, particularly after My good friends advice / information!
Well, 10 years later I still have it, & kept it under kid gloves - Can any of you learned people that know about wine verify or at least give any information about this Bottle of Red wine? I have no ide at all!

Thank you for reading my Book! Any info would be gratefully received

Regards
Phil

Someone may pay £50 for the bottle as a "birth-year" gift, especially as the wine is heading towards its 21st birthday.

1992 was a particularly poor vintage and, as Chateau De L'Hospital does not feature in any Bordeaux classification I can find, I doubt it would ever be able to achieve and maintain the prices you suggest.  Wine Searcher http://www.wine-searcher.com has a Chateau De L'Hospital Graves Rouge 2005, an infinitely better vintage, listed at around £12.

Personally, if you can't sell it then I'd open it and enjoy what will no doubt be a lovely mature rounded claret.  But as with anything like this, you alone have to decide what to do.

One last point to note, you can't buy wine on ebay.  Believe me, I've tried!

Hope this is of some interest.
